Time for Recovery and new Plans
After the Hallwilerseelauf I decided to take two weeks off running to recover the whole system. So far small amounts of swimming and biking keep me fresh. I try now to enhance my current and future strength and "maintenance" program.

In short: I am happy with my achievement on home soil, but felt that the season has been long (maybe too long) and the performance curve went downwards. But as long as I run, I try to start there and time is not everything on this course. I think this showed me again, that it is time for some change.
For my next projects, I am happy to announce that I registered for the Zürich Marathon 2018. After two years of mainly Half Marathons, it is time for something "new", which means back to the Marathon. The 22nd of April is marked bold in my calendar and I already met Ivo and Rainer who will support me on my way. I am happy that I can work closer together with Rainer Hauch. I can highly benefit from his experiences in marathon training and to know two trusted person by my side. Also, new approaches in the marathon training can bring me one step further.
The first appointment was an invitation to the NLZ-NWS Kickoff-meeting last weekend. Mainly built for the support of young (u20) athletes, I already went to the training sessions there when I still lived in Basel. This year I undercut the Half-marathon limit time of <1:12. Now I can benefit from free sports medicine which will help me to achieve future goals.
In one week I plan to start again with some shorter runs. Without a specific target, I am looking forward to participate again at the Basler Stadtlauf, together with my family. See you there!
